What an incredibly beautiful place this is. This association has existed for over 250 years, since 1774 (!). It was started by a group of gentlemen (of course) who painted the landscape, the harbor, and the Merwede River. The rooms are designed so that daylight falls perfectly on the paintings. It works.
A full-circle moment to be able to exhibit here, following in the footsteps of my predecessors. Vincent van Gogh also exhibited here in 1897. To name just one illustrious...
